Author and director Jordan Peele and Simon Kinberg, a producer and scriptwriter whose credits include the money films Sherlock Holmes and Mr & Mrs Smith, executive producing the latest Incarnation of The Twilight Zone, come to CBS All Access in 2019. (Notes: CBS is CNET's parent company.)
The time is super mature to recreate the original television series, which ran 1959-1964 and remains a prescient thriller anthology that collectively still explores vital themes of the human state, including fear of war, famine and apocalypse and anger and madness that arises when easily manipulated confronted with the thought of "the other." In a super fun way, promise, but you can discover it yourself.

What does the meaning of Twilight Zone mean?
"There is a fifth dimension beyond what is known for man," said the original series and host Rod Serling in intro to Season 1, which began on October 2, 1959. "It's a dimension as big as space and timelessness as infinity It lies in the middle between light and shadow between science and superstition and lies between the core of human fear and the peak of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area called the Twilight Zone. "
Who should be hosting the new Twilight Zone?
Peele said he was initially reluctant to enter the host role, but he has since retested and confirmed (although it is still unclear if viewers see him on camera).
"To me, it was an opportunity to try and continue with Serling's mission," said Peele to Variety when the restart was announced. "If we approach it without ego and kind of bow to Serling, it will hopefully be enough for our Twilight Zone fans, but also take back a show that is needed right now. Because it's a show that has always helped us look at ourselves, keep a mirror up to society. "
How many versions has it been?
The original Twilight Zone was aired at CBS from 1959-1964, followed by a remake 1985-1989. UPN created a third version, narrated by Forest Whitaker, who moved from 2002-2003.
Can I look at the original version?
You can view 10 episodes for free on CBS.com, or all 156 episodes by subscribing to the CBS All Access service.
I never saw it, but why do I already know that theme song?
Twilight Zones musical scores and the original theme song by Marius Constant, a French composer born in Romania, have been gathered or interpolated tens of times overboard and endless times without the permission of rock groups, hip hop artists, electronic music producers and more. Among some of the more famous actions to try or replay the theme's main rhythm is Manhattan Transfer (whose 1979 song "Twilight Zone" may be the first example of the actual sampling of the theme), Insane Clown Posse, Dr Dre, Dr. . Octagon and Lil B. And while they did not directly test the theme, a Dutch band called Golden Earring had an international hit in 1982 called the "Twilight Zone".
Will the new version restore old episodes?
Leading manufacturer Peele and Kinberg have been left mom for so long on the subject, but they would continue with the precedent in the two remakes if they did. They have revealed their top 10 all-time favorite Twilight Zone episodes, which can provide clues about who they would like to recreate – or would never dare to touch.
Who will be in it?
Again they do not say much, but it's probably a sure bet to expect some big cameos. We know that Adam Scott of Parks and Recreation enters the fifth dimension, and on November 15, CBS announced that Kumail Nanjiani will star in a section written by Alex Rubens (The Last AND, Key and Peele). Kinberg told Collider that they also had "lots" of interest from major movie actors to appear in an episode. The publication reported that the premiere will be directed by Gerard McMurray, whose credits include Burning Sands and The First Purge.
"It's socio-political and deals with big themes, but in fun science-fiction genre-y-ways – Similarly, Kinberg said in the interview, where he also quoted the Netflix series Black Mirror as" inspiration
