Use Siri to talk with Google Assistant on your iPhone



Talking to Google Assistant on an iPhone is hardly new – Google released its Assistant app in 2017. However, the process of getting to Google Assistant did not mean that the typical "Ok Google" or "Hey Google "command.

Instead, you must manually open the app or launch it with a widget. It worked, but only if you really liked Google Assistant.

To use the new Siri Shortcut feature in Google Assistant, make sure that the Google Assistant app is updated in the App Store (or install it for the first time here).

Then open the Google Assistant app, where you will immediately receive an instant message about creating the shortcut. Touch Add to Siri then press the red button and say the phrase you want to use to call Google Assistant. Sticking with "Ok Google" is an easy way to remember the phrase.

When done, call Siri, then use the new Google shortcut, followed by your command to Google. So, that would be something like "Hi, Siri. Okay, Google, how is the weather?"
