Apple’s latest portable operating system WatchOS 7 has arrived at Apple Watch ($ 399 on Apple), following a message from the technology giant annual event in September. At Apple’s “Time Flies” event, two new smartwatch models, The Apple Watch Series 6 and the more affordable ones Apple Watch SE. Originally revealed during its WWDC root Earlier this summer, the WatchOS 7 update has been available as a public beta since August. Its new features include four new sessions in the Workout app, the ability to use Siri to translate multiple languages ​​directly from the wrist, an automatic motion-sensitive timer for hand washing, extended and divisible dials from third-party developers and a sleep tracker that lets you know when it’s time to relax for your best rest.

A new expansion of the Noise app’s alert system – which already pings users when it detects ambient noise levels that can affect hearing loss – now warns you when listening to audio via your headphones from either your iPhone ($ 699 on Amazon), iPod or Apple Watch. A new set of mobility metrics will also be available via one six-minute walking test function, powered by advanced algorithms and Watchs motion sensing accelerometer and gyroscope.

Apple Watch has come a long way since its launch in 2015, when it was originally designated as a luxury item complete with a $ 10,000 gold variant called Apple Watch Edition. But in recent years, Apple has spied on the watch as a health device and tracked the wearer’s steps and activity. Apple has added health-related features such as an ECG heart rate monitor, gym equipment synchronization technology and a meditation app.

What devices can I download WatchOS 7 on?

According to Apple, WatchOS 7 requires an iPhone 6s ($ 99 at Back Market) or later, with iOS 14, which is also available now (read how to download iOS 14 here). You also need one of the following Apple Watch models:

If you buy an Apple Watch Series 6 or SE, WatchOS 7 will be available on the device. Not all features are available on all devices, Apple noted.

How do I update to WatchOS 7?

Clock users can upgrade their operating system with their iPhone. When a new update is available, your Apple Watch will notify you. Tap Refresh tonight in the message, then go to your iPhone to confirm. Leave your Apple Watch and iPhone charged overnight and the update will be completed.

Or you can check for the update manually, as WatchOS 7 is already available. To do this, open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone and tap the My Clock tab. Touch General> Software Update. Download the update and enter the password if prompted. Wait until the progress wheel appears – it may take several minutes or up to an hour for the update to complete.
