This Wednesday, May 13, is the last day you can submit your bank details directly to the IRS to receive your stimulus check electronically instead of waiting for a paper check.
Hopefully you have already received your stimulus payment via direct deposit (even if you had to jump through and extra bow or two).
If not, now is the time to check that the IRS has your direct deposit information at hand and, if not, send it. After this Wednesday, the IRS will not accept electronic deposit information and will fall back on a paper check delivery system:
"We are working hard to quickly get more payments to the taxpayers," said IRS Commissioner Chuck Rettig. “We want people to visit Get my payment before the last time on Wednesday so they can submit their direct deposit information. It is time for a chance to get these payments several weeks earlier through direct deposit. ”
You can check the status of your payment and confirm that the IRS has (or needs) your direct deposit information with the official Get My Payment Tool here.
