Where do I vote? How to find your polling station on election day 2020

You are registered to vote and to have everything you need to vote on Election day, as an ID card – but do you know where your polling place is this year? Due coronavirus pandemicyour regular polling station may be elsewhere to better cater to your counties social distancing protocol.

If you want to avoid the votes this year, you can send your vote by mail (this is how it works for your state). You can also choose to vote early at your polling station to avoid long lines. What you should not do, however, is try to vote by mail and vote in person, for double voting is a federal and often local crime that can be punished with a fine and / or imprisonment.

Now that we have managed everything like this, you will find your polling station on election day, 3 November.

Use Vote.org

1. Open vote.org on your desktop computer, tablet or phone.

2. Tap Room for local elections.

3. Select the country you are registered to vote in from the list.

4. The information you must provide will vary depending on the state you live in. For example, Kentucky requires residents to provide their full name, date of birth and the last four digits of their social security number to find your polling place. In California, all you have to do is enter your address.

Please note that polling station information may not be available yet, so you may need to keep checking for updates.

Contact your local sheriff

If the information for polling stations is not yet available online, you can contact your local county administrative office to see if they can give you more information. They may also be able to notify you when the voice information will be sent out in the mail.
