YouTube TV subscribers lose access to Fox Regional Sports – Review Geek

Not long after a price increase, YouTube TV has a “gift” for its subscribers – fewer channels. Last March, YouTube TV tweeted that it would lose access to Fox regional sports channels due to suspended negotiations with Sinclair Broadcast Group. That did not happen and the two companies renewed contract discussions. But now YouTube TV says that the channels will disappear on October 1

.

The news comes again via Tweet, and YouTube TV explains that the latest additions were only valid at the end of the MLB, NHL and NBA seasons. These seasons are over, and with them is also the extension.

YouTube went on to explain that subscribers who lose access to the channels would also lose access to “Library Recordings from FOX RSN.”

YouTube TV promises to send email to anyone affected by the change. As the name suggests, Fox Regional Sports varies by region, and what you have access to is determined by where you live. For its part, Sinclair Broadcasting Group has not commented on the subject.

Unfortunately, price wars and channel losses become a regular occurrence with streaming services, even when pricing goes up. When we tried to create a value guide for Streaming TV, we failed. Almost everything we recommended was invalid within a week.
